Books installation

For the 2011 IDSwest show we teamed up with Satyan Gil from Mellem to produce a fun installation at our booth. The concept was to create a “reading corner” to showcase the launch of studiopombo’s bookmark lamp and Mellem tension stools. By customizing readily available deck hardware we attached the books to a wall making them appear to be “floating” against the wall with out visible means of attachment to it.  We also used the books as display stands and props throughout the booth.

A floor graphic reading “Yes you can sit and read” encouraged participation from the show visitors.  We had many “how did you do that?” inquires and we had fun telling younger visitors that we had a magician cast a spell on the books (think Harry Potter!).
